Each year the Baltimore Chapter of the American Marketing Association awards seven scholarship awards, one $3,000 first place prize, two second place prizes of $1,000 book scholarship awards, and four third place prizes of $500 book scholarship awards to students from colleges and universities in the greater Baltimore area. These merit scholarships offer a quality opportunity for marketing and other business students to become familiar with the chapter and its resources — at both the national and local level.

Vice President of Collegiate Relations and incoming chapter president Dov Hoffman is dedicated to building relationships with students and recent graduates. Hoffman believes that “…these students and young professionals, they are the future leaders of our organizations and the future of the American Marketing Association.”

Applicants are evaluated on their academic performance and extracurricular involvement. Top finalists also participate in a phone interview with the scholarship judging committee in which they are evaluated on responses to several questions pertaining to their work experience, future career plans, and a marketing case study. According to committee judge and immediate past president Joe Wagner, deciding on this year’s recipients was no easy task. “All of the students that we interviewed were incredibly poised, confident, and well-spoken. It was wonderful to receive so many impressive applications, but it made our decisions as judges especially difficult.”

The Baltimore Chapter of the American Marketing Association is proud to recognize the following scholarship award winners:

  • Suzanna Rush, Loyola University Maryland – $3,000 first place prize
  • Alyssa McCallan, Loyola University Maryland – $1,000 book scholarship
  • Brent Longenecker, Washington College – $1,000 book scholarship

  • Michelle Edelson, Johns Hopkins University – $500 book scholarship
  • Kara McDonough, Johns Hopkins University – $500 book scholarship
